For the people of Palestine, days turn into weeks, and weeks into months, as their cries for help fall on deaf ears. 100% of Palestinians in Gaza live in crippling poverty, with 2.3 million people lacking access to food, clean water, and shelter. Every day is a battle for survival, as women, children, and the elderly wonder if today will be their last.
In Syria, after over a decade of conflict, families are finally returning home, but to what? Rubble replaces homes, and poverty and hunger persist. This Ramadan, many Syrians face the unimaginable task of rebuilding their lives from nothing, struggling even to find clean drinking water.
Across the Middle East, poverty and conflict have left countries like Lebanon and Yemen devastated. Millions in Lebanon fight to survive displacement, hunger, and sickness. In Yemen, mothers endure the agony of watching their children suffer from malnourishment, unable to provide them with food. Refugee camps in Jordan, Egypt, and Turkey are overflowing with displaced Syrians and Palestinians.
And beyond the Middle East, in South Asia and Africa, nations like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, and Uganda are ravaged by natural disasters, war, and famine. Millions survive on contaminated water and scraps, clinging to life as they endure unimaginable hardship. Further East, in Myanmar and Indonesia, natural disasters leave families without food, shelter, or basic essentials.
This is the reality for millions this Ramadan.
